Are OCG products allowed at official Yu-Gi-Oh! tournaments?
Yes, OCG accessories such as sleeves, playmats, or deck boxes may generally be used – as long as they comply with the official tournament rules.
What is important is:
- The covers must be completely opaque .
- No marked or damaged covers may be used.
- The accessories must not display any offensive or inappropriate motifs .
- The accessories must not hinder the flow of the game .
Are cloth playmats such as Spellgrounds or Yggdrasil Materials mats allowed in official Yu-Gi-Oh! tournaments?
Yes, cloth playmats such as those from Spellground or Yggdrasil Materials are generally permitted as long as they comply with the official tournament guidelines.
Please note:
- The mat must not cause any annoying unevenness or allow the play material to slip.
- It must not contain any printed zones that deviate significantly from the official layout.
- No offensive, misleading or inappropriate motifs may be depicted.
- Judges may refuse the use of a mat if it interferes with play.
Tip: If you're unsure whether your tournament allows the playmat, it's best to ask the head judge . However, our experience has shown that plain cloth playmats are generally allowed at YCS events.
