What is YCSJ? Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series Japan explained

Behind the abbreviation YCSJ are some of the most sought-after Yu-Gi-Oh! collectibles of all. We explain what it's all about.

What does YCSJ mean?

YCSJ stands for Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series Japan – Konami's big official tournament series in Japan. It is the Japanese counterpart to the YCS in the Western TCG and takes place in major cities such as Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya.

What makes YCSJ special?

At these events there are exclusive products that can't be bought anywhere through regular channels – only on site or on the secondary market. These include:

  • Duel Sets – themed sets built around popular archetypes.
  • Playmats with event artwork.
  • Sleeves in limited runs.
  • Tokens & Field Center Cards as promos.

Why are YCSJ products so sought after?

Three reasons: limited quantities, exclusive designs and Japan-only availability. They are hard to get in Europe – and the collector's value is correspondingly high; for rare pieces it can rise considerably over the years.

How do I get YCSJ products in Europe?

Going directly via Japan takes effort (travel, proxy services, shipping, customs). The easier way: at Jungcards we import authentic YCSJ products straight from Japan and ship quickly from Germany.
