The range at a glance

Gatherers' Tavern DOMARU: hard-shell deck boxes with a strong magnetic closure and leather dividers. The Vertex models load from the top, the Armory Horizon models from the side. According to the manufacturer, both hold 100+ cards, including double- and triple-sleeved; the Vertex Duo offers two compartments for 200+ double-sleeved cards.

Gatherers' Tavern × Yu-Gi-Oh! ARTY: boxes, bags and slings from the collaboration line featuring Kuriboh, Ojama Yellow, Scapegoat or Mokey Mokey – with room for several decks, deck boxes and accessories.

Monster Protectors Double Magnetic Deck Box: one box for two decks of roughly 80–100 sleeved cards each, in several colours.

Official Konami cases: deck cases from duel sets, Duelist Boxes and event releases, such as the Sky Striker Deluxe Duel Set or YCSJ, as well as Judge card cases. A few Japanese Pokémon deck boxes round out the range.

How to choose the right deck box

Start by counting the cards: a Main Deck of 40 to 60 cards, up to 15 Extra Deck cards and up to 15 Side Deck cards. With a 40-card Main Deck that is up to 70 cards – and double sleeved, they take up noticeably more space than unsleeved cards. If you double sleeve, choose a box rated for 100+ cards. How thick a deck gets with inner and outer sleeves is explained in our double sleeving guide; matching sleeves are in Outer Sleeves and OCG Sleeves.

Next, the closure: magnetic closures open quickly and hold securely. Side loading (Horizon) makes it easier to take the deck out, top loading (Vertex) is more compact. Official Konami cases are often more of a collector's item – whether they hold a double-sleeved deck depends on the model and is noted in the description where known. FAQ

How many cards fit in a deck box?

It depends on the model. According to the manufacturer, the DOMARU Vertex and Armory Horizon hold 100+ cards, including double-sleeved; the Vertex Duo holds 200+ double-sleeved cards in two compartments. The exact capacity is listed in each product description.

Which deck box works for double-sleeved decks?

For Main, Extra and Side Deck with double sleeves, we recommend a box with a capacity of at least 100 cards, for example a DOMARU Vertex or Armory Horizon.

What is the difference between top loading and side loading?

With top loading, the deck goes in from the top and the box is usually more compact. With side loading, the box opens at the side, which makes it easier to take the deck out.

Are the Konami deck cases official products?

Yes. The Konami deck cases come from official duel sets, Duelist Boxes, events or Judge programs and are mostly imported from Japan.
