Buy Outer Sleeves – Over-Sleeves for Yu-Gi-Oh! Double Sleeving

Outer sleeves are the outer layer in double sleeving: clear sleeves that go over a card that is already sleeved. They protect art sleeves and cards from wear, dust and moisture and keep your deck shuffling evenly. This collection covers Japanese size outer sleeves for Yu-Gi-Oh! plus a few selected card protection accessories.

What you will find here

The range is deliberately compact: Dragon Shield Japanese Size Matte Clear Outer Sleeves (60 count) with a matte back, official Konami outer sleeves from Japan – for example from the Prismatic God Box or the Duelist Box: Prismatic Summon (70 each, approx. 66 × 92 mm according to the manufacturer) – and Baba Sleeves, which are also available as an oversleeve variant. On top of that there are Ultra Pro toploaders and a grading combo pack for individual valuable cards, plus a tube for transporting playmats and artwork.

How to choose the right outer sleeves

The size of the inner sleeve is what matters. Yu-Gi-Oh! cards – OCG and TCG alike – need Japanese size sleeves; outer sleeves have to be slightly larger so the sleeved card slides in without the edges buckling. Also look at the finish: a clear front lets the artwork of your character sleeves show through, while a matte back improves the shuffle feel. How to put inner and outer sleeves together correctly is covered step by step in our double sleeving guide. For an overview of all sleeve types, read Which sleeves for Yu-Gi-Oh! Japanese size?

Typical combinations

The most common setup: an official art sleeve from our OCG sleeves as the inner layer with a clear outer sleeve on top. The artwork stays visible and protected. Players who prefer a plain look combine a tight-fitting inner sleeve with a coloured Japanese size sleeve from our solid-colour sleeves. Insert the card opening-first into the outer sleeve – that way the two openings face opposite ends and dust has a much harder time getting in. Whether your OCG cards are playable in Europe is answered in OCG vs. TCG.

Orders ship with DHL from Germany: 1–3 business days within Germany for €2.99, free from €75. Orders within the EU incur no customs fees.

FAQ

What is the difference between inner and outer sleeves?

Inner sleeves fit tightly around the card and go on first. Outer sleeves are slightly larger and go over them. Together they protect against dust, moisture and wear better than a single sleeve.

Do these outer sleeves fit over official Konami character sleeves?

The outer sleeves in this collection are made for Japanese size inner sleeves, so they are intended for Yu-Gi-Oh! character sleeves. Art sleeves vary slightly from release to release, so the fit can differ a little.

How many outer sleeves do I need?

One per card: 40 to 60 for the Main Deck, up to 15 for the Extra Deck and up to 15 for the Side Deck. A pack of 60 or 70 covers a typical Main Deck.

Is double sleeving allowed at tournaments?

Yes, double sleeving is common. Every card in the deck must be sleeved the same way, using the same inner and outer sleeve combination.
